To enter supplier details, use the tabs in the record window to fill in your supplier account information. Details you may need to provide include:
Supplier name
Contact information (address, phone number, email)
Payment terms and credit limits
Billing and delivery addresses
Any additional notes or relevant details
Primary contact details
Preferred courier
Primary discount (if applicable)
Saving the Record: Once all necessary information is entered, click the “Save” button to create the new supplier record. By following these steps, you can efficiently manage and update your supplier records, ensuring that all essential information is easily accessible and up-to-date.
Credit Control You will need to set up an account number for the supplier. If the system is linked to Sage Accounting, entering the account number will automatically sync the supplier details with Sage, and the supplier status will also update to reflect the Sage status (e.g., “New”).
Currency/Tax Set up the default tax code for the supplier, which is typically T1 for UK-based suppliers. The VAT rate, currently 20%, is defined in the administration module. Define the base currency, especially if you trade with suppliers overseas, to ensure the correct currency is applied to transactions. When purchase orders are created, the system will automatically use the base currency assigned to the supplier.
Discounts You can configure overall discounts for the supplier by using the discount dropdown menu. The available options are:
None
By Percentage
By Amount
The value entered here will be applied in the purchase order module when calculating discounts on individual purchase orders.
