To make SAM accessible and functional for Client Service Personnel, engineers, and technicians, their details must first be set up in SAM, and they must be assigned appropriate access levels.
There are five user types in SAM:
Administrator
Manager
Engineer
Accounting
Guest
Adding Users and Defining Permissions:
To add users and set their permissions, follow these steps:
Log in to SAM using the administrator’s username and password.
Click on the ‘Administration’ menu option, when the Administration page appears, select the ‘User Profiles’ menu option, then the ‘User Names’ option to display the form for entering user details.
Username: The user’s login name, which must be a valid user on your internal network.
Display Name: The name that will be referenced by the system for this user.
Role: The user’s job role (e.g., Administrator, Manager, Engineer).
Team: The team the user belongs to (e.g., Engineer, Sales, Administration).
Email Address: The user’s email address.
Password: The password the user will use to log into SAM.
Charge Rates: (For engineers) The rate for job costing purposes.
Once you’ve entered the details, save the changes, and the user will be added to the system with the defined permissions.
