The sales order is pivotal within sales order processing. It is a contractual agreement between you and the customer for the provision of goods and services at an agreed price.
You can create orders in the following ways, provided the customer’s account is not ‘on hold’:
Using full order entry: Goods ordered in this way are dispatched from the warehouse with a dispatch note, and an invoice for payment is generated separately.
Using order entry by trade counter: This is a simple order entry process associated with ‘over-the-counter’ sales. The customer picks the goods, pays immediately, and you then ship the product.
By converting an opportunity into a sales order: This is done from the opportunity module. Once a customer agrees to proceed with a quotation, you can transfer the opportunity directly to the Sales Order module.
By converting a service job into an order: Once the job is completed, the administrator clicks on the pricing menu option and selects the invoice button, which will automatically create a Sales Order.
By converting a quotation into an order: This is done from within the quotations module.
To add a new sales order: Click on the ‘New Order’ button to open the sales order pop-up window, the click on the add part button, when the parts dropdown window appears. Select the required parts enter the correct quantities then close the window.
Once the order is colplete you can immediately allocate the parts and and ship the order to your customers.
